with Chernobyl' is a major exhibition exploring the issues that have
arisen as a result of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986; the European

Participation in the Practice of Rights
The report of an exciting and
innovative conference, title as above, was launched recently. The
conference brought together human rights activists, anti-poverty
campaigners, trade unionists, community development groups, from north and
south of the island, to discuss how the most marginalised in society can
take part in the decisions that affect their lives and effectively
exercise their right to human dignity. The 5 organising groups (CAJ/Committee
on the Administration of Justice, Combat Poverty Agency, Irish Council for
Civil Liberties. NI Voluntary Trust and the Irish Congress of Trade
Unions) are looking at ideas to bring the work forward but the main idea
is to build on what is already there rather than create new structures.
